EDR Plugin

Overview

EDR is available as a plugin for Elite Dangerous Market Connector (EDMC). EDMC is a third party companion app for Elite: Dangerous whose main purpose is to collect market information for traders. It also provides integrations with well-known Elite: Dangerous third party websites, e.g. Inara, Elite Dangerous Star Map, Coriolis, etc.

Features:

• Commander profile: outlaw or lawful, Inara profile, recent scan history, squadron ally or enemy, custom tags, memo, etc.
• Sitrep: a summary of recent activity in a given star system, with a breakdown of outlaws, interdictors, destroyers and sighted commanders.
• NOTAMs: warnings about well-known hotspots, or other hazards.
• Realtime alerts: notifies you when an outlaw or powerplay enemy has been sighted.
• Search features: find various services near your position or a specific star system, e.g. material traders, interstellar factors, technology brokers, etc.
• Material hotspots: helps you find the nearest / best source for a given engineering material.
• Planet assessment: find out if a planet is a good source of a given material or below average.
• Distance: calculate the distance and travel times between your position and another star system or two star systems.
• Navigation guidance: notifies you about star systems with points of interest.
• Planetary guidance: shows heading and pithc for known points of interest and custom destinations.

Install

Follow these steps to install EDR:

• Download and install EDMC. Note: you don't need to authenticate yourself with EDMC to use EDR.
• Read EDR's privacy policy and terms of services.
• Proceeding any further implies that you understood and agreed to the privacy policy and the terms of services.
• Download the latest release of EDR (the Zip file named as follows EDR v#.#.#.zip)
• Launch EDMC, click on the File menu, then settings.
• Click on the Plugins tab, and Open location. This reveals EDMC's plugins folder.
• Extract the content of the EDR Zip file in the Plugins folder, under a subfolder named EDR.
• Relaunch EDMC. If you see the EDR status line at the bottom of EDMC, it means that EDR was successfully installed.
• Optional: apply for an account. An account provides access to extra features such as reporting intel, or annotating your encounters.

How-to

EDR Plugin's features are either triggered automatically or manually by sending commands via the game's chat functionality.

Automatic triggers

Examples of events that may trigger an EDR feature:

• Scanning another commander
• Jumping into a system with recent activity, interesting faction states, points of interest.
• Discovering a rare signal source with the Full Spectrum System Scanner.
• Receiving a message, wing invite, friend request.
• Crew member joining your multi-crew ship.

Chat commands

You can trigger some EDR features by sending commands via the game's chat. You can send these in any channel.

Examples of chat commands:

• !dist Lave: shows the distance and travel time between your current position and the system called Lave.
• !search imperial shielding or !search i s: search for a source of Imperial Shielding near your position.
• !sitreps: show a list of star systems with recent activity
• !sitrep shinrarta dezhra: show a summary of recent activity, if any, for the star system called Shinrarta Dezhra.
• !outlaws: show a list of recently sighted outlaws.
• ?outlaws on: enable realtime alerts for outlaws sightings.
• !if: search for the nearest Interstellar Factors.
• !htb: search for the nearest Human Tech Broker.
• !raw: search for the nearest Raw Material Trader.
• !help: shows a help menu to learn more about what EDR has to offer and find out about other chat commands.
• !clear: clears up the screen from any overlayed text.
